Adding your own pages is really easy! First copy and paste your index.html file, and rename the copy "my-page.html".
Open my-page.html for editing.
Change the <title> section, so that it contains the name of your new page, followed by a space, a |, another space, and then your website title e.g.:
"My Page | Website Title"
At the moment, it MUST be in this format. I am looking into making this more customizable without being too confusing in a future version of Static Ultra. But I think for now this is an acceptable approach. xD
Once again, edit your page's content by changing the HTML between <!-- Page Content Begin --> and <!-- Page Content End -->. What shall we put this time, how about:
<p>Hey look I added another page!</p>
Save and quit the page. Now, you'll probably want a link to it on your main menu, right? Open up config.js.
Look for the following:
// Static Ultra will transform this into your main menu HTML this.SITE_MENU = [ [ ".", "Home" ] ]
Change it to this:
// Static Ultra will transform this into your main menu HTML this.SITE_MENU = [ [ ".", "Home" ], [ "my-page.html", "My Page" ] ]
Save and quit config.js. Visit your website and go to your new page. That's it!
Notice how you didn't have to update the menu or theme code on both pages? Imagine if you had 100 pages! I hope this demonstrates how Static Ultra can save you a lot of time.
Next, we'll take a look at making your own theme so you can make your website your own. After that, we'll take a look at how to add folders with more pages in them!
